As an emblematic figure of contemporary violin making, Gauthier Louppe draws the art of luthery today in a cultural bubbling similar to that of the Renaissance, by his globalizing philosophy, unbounded and by a perpetual dialogue with plastic artists. By the scientific and artistic analysis of the instruments of the string quartet, Gauthier Louppe brings a modern conception to lutherie. He leaves his imagination unrestrained to the creation of his instruments, unique and original works. His first contemporary creation was born in 1995, opening the door to others such as "Quintessence", "Resurgence", "Ouroboros" or "Florilège" and to exceptional instruments such as the violin "Vent de Liberté" and The viola "Gaudiade". His major work remains the quartet "Phénix".
All his instruments combine aesthetics with scientific research, ergonomics with innovation. They seduce various artists, composers and musicians as much by their original forms as by the richness of their sounds.
